Our mission is to coordinate resources, partnerships, and support for individuals and families impacted by these events, ensuring a sustainable and resilient community.
Position Overview:
The Avery County Long-Term Recovery Group is seeking a dedicated and versatile Part-Time Operations Assistant to support ongoing disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts across the county. This is a 1099 contract position designed for a flexible, solutions-oriented individual who can assist both our Case Managers and Project Manager with a wide range of operational and logistical tasks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Responding to and managing incoming phone calls, emails, and assistance inquiries.
• Transporting tools, supplies, and materials to and from job sites.
• Assisting with basic repairs, remodels, and general labor tasks.
• Conducting site visits to help vet requests for assistance.
• Providing on-site support to volunteer groups, ensuring they have necessary resources and addressing job-specific questions.
Ideal Candidate:
• Has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Is comfortable with light manual labor and using basic tools.
• Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.
• Can work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Has a passion for community recovery and service.
This is a part-time, contract-based position with flexible hours based on project and site needs. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and availability.
Position Details:
• Part-time: Approximately 20-30 hours per week.
• Location: Avery County.
• Compensation: $20 an hour
• 1099 Contract Worker
